Tehran puts non-recyclable waste into use

Non-recyclable wastes such as tires which gravely threatens the environment have been put in good use during Noruz holidays (March 20-April 1) in Tehran, Mehr reported.

TEHRAN — Non-recyclable wastes such as tires which gravely threatens the environment have been put in good use during Noruz holidays (March 20-April 1) in Tehran, Mehr reported.

Using innovative and modern designs will help to make street more appealing for tourists. One of these innovative designs is the use of old and scrap tires as colorful vases in the highways of the metropolis of Tehran.

The tire vases, which are bearing newly sprouted flowers, are painted in various and bright colors and hanged from the walls in the highways and have given a striking look to them.

The executive director of this novelty, Niko Qasemi, has said that as plastics are of great danger to the environment “we have decided to use them in other ways.”

People have warmly welcomed this new design and additionally waste management organization (an organization affiliated to the municipality) helped a lot for the project to get off the ground, Qasemi added.
